Make Carnival Not War
A selection from a set of posters created in 2024 for the 4th Carnival to celebrating the life of David Graeber.
The posters form part of an ever expanding Apartment Art collection (Apt/Art).
Apt Art was a popular form of dissent in Soviet Russia, a reaction to the State using museums and public art galleries as propaganda machines. Soviet citizens would put on their own exhibitions at home and invite guests to their homes. This act of cultural exchange and neighbourliness ensured an underground of uncensored art was always flowing through society.
